I am taking my inspiration from some super 8 that I shot last winter. I am beginning to realize that one of the reasons that I love Minnesota so much is the bleakness of the winter months. To most the winter months here are somewhat depressing, but I take some comfort from the white and silence that accompanies the massive snowfalls that happen from time to time. And I am sad that I will have to wait until next year to continue with this work.

It was given to me by my high school photography teacher. He wasn't sure if it worked or what type of film it took. When I got it home I took a closer look. It looked to me like it took the same polaroid film as my Mamiya. So I popped one in and it worked. I am saddened to hear about polaroids demise, but I will continue to shoot while it is still available and when it is all gone, I'll have to switch to Fuji. These are from the first little project I tried with it. f/90.

I had a great time at the opening and a lot of people came out to see the show. I was also delighted to find out that I get to keep my portion of the banner that is hanging on the side of the building. I have no clue as to where I am going to store it, or even how I am going to transport it from the Museum.

If you haven't seen the show yet, it's worth it.

I was just named as a finalist for the Jerome Fellowship and I am preparing for a show at the Minnesota Museum of American Art. I have also been thinking about my next series for a few months and have begun to make skectch images. Here is the first. I am staying with my technology theme but this time am venturing into what happens to the group dynamic when technology is introduced. I want to deal with both groups of people and people in public places with others. I have 30 shots lined up, and as soon as I can afford a 4 x 5 camera, which I hope will be before December, I will begin shooting. I have to say that this the most excited I've been about shooting in a while.

Like I said, this is a sketch and things will be different in the final image, so if there is any critique, I would love to hear it.
